Public schools in Texas operate on two separate budgets:

1. Maintenance & Operations (M&O), used for daily operations such as utilities and teachers’ salaries.
2. Interest& Sinking (I&S), which pays for capital debt, new construction, and renovations.

In order to fund the I&S budget, our schools rely on the support of local tax payers to finance the design, construction, expansion and renovation of facilities.

Dumas ISD has a proven track record of fiscal responsibilty and has maintained the same rate for the past 9 years.

It has been 11 years since the last bond program in 2008 that was completed on time and on budget.
